The Great Ocean Road and Getting Gooned up for Bonnies Birthday!

Wow what a crazy week this past week has been.  I feel like so much happened, I am going to write as much as I can as there are areas of the week that I don't remember too much of lol.
To start off Taariq (Ryans brother)  came out and stayed at the hostel on Wednesday night.  We had a blast.  We went to Base and then drank under the palm tree.  It was really good to see him and catch up.  Though I knew if I saw him we would be drinking and Bonnie and I were living at 7am the next morning to do a two day road trip on the Great Ocean Road.   Let me tell you how I was cursing him the next morning.  I almost didn't make the bus, Bonnie was standing out on the street corner shaking her head at me, but I made it with time to spare.
The trip though rainy and a little cold was really good.  We saw so much stuff. Our first site was Warrnambol to go to Logan Beach where you can go whale watching but unfortunately for us due to the time of year we didn't get to see any.  Our next stop was Tower Hill Volcanoe.  I was thinking cool, I can stand on the edge and look into a volcanoe...not so much.  We actually drove into it.  This thing is massive, car parks, picnic tables, hiking trails, eucalyptus trees, ponds and amazing wildlife.  We saw Koala's up in the eucalyptus trees, emus off in a field, and wallabee's.  We got so close to the wallabees, probably about 10 feet it was really amazing.  The koalas were awesome.  I reallly just wanted to hold one and take it with me, they look so cute and cuddly yet are far from friendly, they are very unsocial animals and don't like to share their trees with other koalas.  The emus we couldnt really see too well they were a few miles away so we didn't get to see them up close and personal.  We drove to the Bay of Islands, The Bay of Martyrs -can't remember the total history about that one.  The Grotto was this big blow hole thing.  The waves would come up and shoot all this water up through the rocks, but if you stood down in the bottom of the The Grotto when the waves came up they would come rushing through this cave, it was really awesome.  After that we went to London Bridge.  It was named that because the formations of the rock actually look like London Bridge and you could walk across it.  Some years back when people were walking out onto there was a huge crack and everyone literally had to run for their lives to make it back to land.  Everyone made it back in time except for two people who stuck on the part still standing out in the water.  The people were out there calmly waiting for the rescue helicopter to come out and get them.  A while after that they see this helicopter and they are relieved until they see it is the News trying to cover this story.  Instead of waving at the camera they duck and cover their faces refusting to let the world see who they are.  Turns out,  they were two married people, not married to eachother.  They were having an affair and took the day off work to be together!  How crazy is that lol...gotta love the tour guides they tell you all the good stuff.  She taught us about Emu's, Koala's and Kangaroos...I felt so educated after we got back.  After that we headed to the 12 Apostles for sunset.  We had to run from the bus because we only had three minutes till sunset, we got there just in time.  It was so beautiful, probably one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen...it really took my breath away.  We then waited about a half our after the sunset to see the penguins come into shore. They are no bigger then a 12 inch ruler so they were litteraly tiny little specks but you could see them when a wave washed up onto shore there would be hundreds of little specks that would waddle up into their grassy homes.  You are not aloud to take any flash photography because it was discovered that the flash was actually blinding the little things so unfortunately I got no pictures but the memory is there.
We then headed back to the hostel and had the biggest dinner we have had in a long time.  Hot dogs, steak, chicken burger, salad, pasta salad.  We were so stuffed but it was so amazing, eating like that is a luxury for us right now.  After that we went straight to bed we were exhausted and I was still a little hungover from the night before...so we were asleep by 10 and up by 7 the next morning to continue on our journey.
Our first stop the next day was the Loch Ard Gorge, my favourtie spot of the whole trip.  The story goes:  there was a ship that capsized in a bad storm.  One of the deckhands survived the wreck and swam to shore only to hear screaming and shouting in the distance.  He saw a young woman clinging for her life on floating parts from the capsized ship.  He swam out in the storm to get her and they swam back to shore...found a cave and stayed there.  When they awoke he went to get help only to find that the beach that they were on was surrounded by rock with no way out.  He scaled the wall to get out and get help.  Now it doesn't seem like a lot but when you are down on this beach looking at this rock you wonder how in the fuck he did this considering the only way down onto the beach now is by steps that have been made.  What happened to the young hero and his damzel in distress you ask?  After loosing her family in the wreck she went back home fell in love and got married.  Our hero not so lucky.  He married, had two sons that he lost both at sea, he himself survived two more shipwrecks but died in his forties.  I have never done a guided to like this and when you hear the stories of the places that you are seeing it makes it that much more awesome and a little more appreciative of what you are seeing.  Our next stop was the Gibson Steps going right down onto the shore but unfortunatly they were closed due to high tides.  Another little story.  Years back a gentleman actually fell off the 35 meter high cliff and survived.  How?  Dude was drunk lol
Alright next stop was Maits Rest Rainforest...really fucking cool.  It had this cozy tropical feeling to it even though it was cold and wet.  We took pictures inside trees and learned about the Black Snail which is the only carnivorous snail in the world.  It shoots out a poison and passing bugs and then eats them.
Once we actually got on the coast Jude put the Beach Boys on. AMAZING! I sang the whole time. She turned the music down at one point and I was still singing away word for word.  Everyone looked at me "how do you know all the words to all the songs?"  guess my age showed there lol
Due to the fact that we didnt' get to go down the Gibson Steps our guide, Jude, took us to this park where we got to see koalas sleeping in eucalyptus trees (one even peed mid sleep).  There were also these birds that eat sunflower seeds, they come right out of the trees and onto your hand to eat the seeds.  It was amazing...I actually held a bird...nevermind bird a WILD bird...definaty conquering that fear.  We then headed to Appollo Bay for an awesome lunch and then off to the "Around the Twist Light House"  some light house from a popular tv show in the UK.  Our last stop was suppossed to be at Bells Beach but there was a Rip Curl surf competition going on so we couldnt go so she took us to a golf course where kangaroos hang out at night.  We pull into the course and there is a sign that says NO PARKING TO WATCH KANGAROOS we stopped anyways because there were kangaroos right where we pulled in.  Yay I got to see a kangaroo...finally...I was gonna ask for a refund.  Then it was a two hour drive back...Bonnie and I were exhausted but super excited to get back as it was the begining of her birthday celebrations and  I had hooked up VIP at Base Bar for her Bday. Plus as much as we hated to admit it we kind of missed the hostel.
We got back with barly enough time to get ready as it was a long weekend and the bar was only open till 11pm.  We had a $50 bar tab and about 21 drink tickets. HURRY UP! We got ready grabbed Lily, Ian and Elias and went to the bar.  Talking about chugging back drinks lol but it was worth it.   There was live music that night and we wanted the musician to sing Happy Birthday he said No worries.  Lily tells him but you have to wait because she has gone to the toilet.  Over the mic you hear "Alright everyone Bonnie has gone to the toilet but when she gets back we are all going to sing Happy Birthday to her"!   After that we went back to the hostel drank some Goone and went to bed.
The next day we head down the street to the Botanical Gardens with boxes of goone.  What a day...well what I remember of it.  Getting drunk on goone is not the best things for one body especially when you proceed to do this for the next 4 days. Plus it was long weekend because of Easter and Anzac day so it was a five day long weekend meaning all the guys were off work and would start drinking goone in the am.  I even woke one morning with a glass of goone beside my bed and the guys told me it was a sign and to start drinking.  But let me tell you, I was in such a good place.  We partied, had a great night and I ended up going back to Base that night because Ian said he had tickets so a few of us went over.  Everyone was there that night whether they new it or not.  It took my buddy two days to find out if he was even there.  The next day same thing except after a few hours at the park I came home and went to sleep for a few hours and then of course got gooned up later that night.  The next day Lil and Lily surprised Bonnie with a chocolate cake, party hats and horns and Bonnie and I ended up in a cake fight.  After that a whole lot of us headed down to the park AGAIN and just talked goonish gibberish it was awesome.  Partied back at the hostel and Adrienne put me to bed before midnight as I was done!
The next day I took the train out to see Dallas for the night.  He made up our famous Mac n Cheese with veg and tuna from California.  It was so good...it tasted exactly like California...plus it was the first time I had Kraft Mac n cheese since I left home so it was heavenly.  We watched a Buffy Marathon on tv and then watched a movie in bed and went to sleep.  We chilled out the next day and then I headed back to the hostel.  It was so great spending time with Dallas and taking a break,  I was afraid I drank to much goone and was gonna wake up dead.
Last night was pretty chilled out a few drinks and then I fell asleep in the tv room.  Today well.  Last night I called home and cried...just got really homesick and overwhelmed.  I talked to my mom for awhile and she told me to take a breath and I would be fine.  Today i feel 100% better!  I do tend to get homesick and sometimes think about coming home.  I often ask myself how I am going to do this for two years but to be honest I am so incredibly happy out here and I am making some incredible friendships with some awesome people.  So to finsh off tonight is Girls Night!  We have hooked up drink tickets for Base.  We are gonna dress up HOT, do our make up, put on heels, me my extensions and let her loose on the dance floor lol.
Love you all xox

Hotel Californ...wait wait, change that...Hotel in St Kilda

Life in St Kilda has been pretty awwesome.  Bonnie and I went to Chapel St. and wandered around.  We  Sportsgirl, which is kind of like Forever 21.  I bought a couple of  things but my visa wouldn't go through so I had to use a cashpoint to get out some cash.  "Do you have a cashpoint?"  "Whats that?"  "A bank machine, so I can get some cash out."  "You mean in here, in the store or in the building?" " Well umm ya, or around the corner?  I have to get some cash."  "Hmmm I am not sure, (giggle), but you can check in there and look around." So I walked into the plaza and there was a cashpoint right outside the door of the store, basically in view point from the girl behind the counter.  I walk back into the counter so I can pay for my stuff and she says "did you find one?"  "Yup"  "Where was it?"  "Right there behind you" "Oh (giggle) I guess I should know that shouldn't I (giggle)  I should've have told her "your so pretty" lol she was so dumb.  Then to top it off she forgot to take all the security tags off all my stuff.  Stupid, stupid girl.
Went to Base Bar with some people from the hostel that night.  It was crazy and not in a good way.  It was ladies night which was fine, so of course being a good sport, I lie down and become a table for guys to drink tequila off my body.  Thought it was a good idea and till I saw the guys that actually line up to partake in these events. \Ughhh, not a good idea, it was gross, and I was covered in Tequila, you could wring out my shirt with Tequila.  The rest of the night was so packed in there you couldn't move, it was like a sess pool of young kids that just wanted to get laid....lol I felt so old and just reallly not into it.  Around midnight one of the guys and I came back to the hostel and just had some one, while everyone slowly made there way back from the bar.
The next day Bonnie and I headed into the city, she wanted to get a hair cut and I was going to get my medicare card only to be told that because I am Canadian I can't get one...oh well.  I then went into a Sportsgirl and got the security tags taken out off my stuff that the stupid girl from the day before had left on.  The city is reallly beautiful.  I wandered around in a big circle for awhile learning where I was and what was around me.  Melbourne has all these alleyways that literally lead to hidden treasures, like shops bars and restaurants in the oddest places you would ever think to put one.  I ended up eating a  at this place called healthy burger just down one of these alleyways,  sat outside and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of people walking by with a slight scent of garbage from the alleyway across from me, a little gross but I enjoyed myself anyways.  I got back about mid afternoon and was quite tired and just wanted to relax.  I ended up hanging out with one of the Canadian guys (Ian) who is staying here.  We got talking and I asked if he wanted to go on a day trip the next day.  Don't get me wrong I love St Kilda and I love Melbourne but I have to get out of the city, it's killing me and I am feeling lazy and haven't really done much since I have been in Australia.  I really wanted to go out to the Dandenongs in Ferntree Gully and do the Kokoda Memorial Walk of 1000 steps.  So we made it an early night to be up early the next morning.
We hopped in Ian's campervan and were on the road just after 9am.  We ended up getting lost for about an hour do to the fact that I am not the best navigator lol.  We started our hike at about 11am.  It wasn't a long hike.  The first little bit was through the woods that had postings with the history of the walk (check the FB album My life in St Kilda with info). After about 10 minutes we got to the base of the steps.  I had packed a day pack because I am used to doing 7 hour hikes but this one was not long at all, not overly beautiful but it was actually the challenge of walking up the steps.  Some people run like its not problem, some peope huff and puff like they are going to die, me I just take my sweet ass time so I can survive the whole thing lol.  By the time I got to the top Ian was sitting up there waving at me and clapping.  I was so happy to get up there.  I caught my breath had some water and we walked back down to the bottom.  When we got back to his camper, he pulled out his cooker and cooked up some beans and smothered them over some bread lol, what a lunch.   It was such a beautiful day out, the sun was shining and it was nice and warm, a perfect day for the hike. We  grabbed some Goone on the way back to the hostel.
I was so happy when I got back as Bonnie had switched from her hostel and was now my new dormmate, so we cooked up a nice dinner and started in on the Goone. (Goone is wine in a box and most of it tastes like shit.  It's pretty gross, but it is really cheap and is in the backpacker budget).  A whole bunch of us ended up going out to Base Bar that night.  It was so much better then the other night.  We had a blast and got completely wasted off of free wine and $10 buckets of Jager.
The next day, hungover, Bonnie, Ian and I headed to the Victoria Market in Downtown Melbourne.  We got so lost, we first went for a japanese lunch and then got turned around and had no idea where we were.  We got three different directions and locations from three different people.  Finally after a couple of hours of wandering around we found it.  It was really great.  Clothing, jewellery, live music and soo much food and it was so hot out.  After about an hour of being in the market we decided we wanted to go for a drink to hopefully help cure our hangovers from the previous nights festivities.  Right outside the market there was this bar with a huge sign saying $5 sangria's.  SOLD!!!  We sat there for about 5 hours in the hot hot sun and just drank all day.  Ian's friends ended up meeting up with us for a few drinks and then we all walked to get some pizza.  It was such a fun day, the sun was so hot and the Sangria was flowing and we just sat and chatted all day.
The next day I didn't do much, I just hung out in my room all day avoiding everyone.  I wassn't feeling to good as I have been drinking for the past three countries and think my body is giving up on me.  I really just didn't want to be peer pressured by Goone and backpackers which was a good choice.  At night I ended up going with one of the guys Rob to the Local.  The comedy fest is on here in Melbourne and there were some comedians performing.  It was so nice to get out and not to a backpacker bar, the comedians were quite good and I met a cool Canadian chick named Amber.  The show finished about 11pm so it was a nice early night.  I made some tea when I got back and went to bed.  Mother Hen needed a break.  I am the oldest female of the Hostel family and Alex is the oldest guy and says he is father wolf lol its kind of funny.
I'm really loving it here.  The people are great and I am making some amazing friendships.  It's so nice having Bonnie here, we cook and plan for dinner, almost like we have an apartment together lol.  Yesterday a bunch of us went to the place called Lentils.  Its a vegan restaurant that was started I think in the 90's and alot of musicians and artists would be performing on the streets.  They didn't always have money but this place shared their food with them and welcomed them in as part of their family.  When they had better weeks and paying gigs they paid a donation to the restaurant.  So keeping the tradition alive, you go in have a really big good meal and give a donation of what you can afford.  It's amazing for backpackers, at least I know I can always eat :)
Bonnie and I grabbed a bottle of read and played cards most of the day, booked our Great Ocean Road trip and then grabbed a couple of the guys and headed to Base for free drinks and then came back and hit the Goone though going bed by midnight because we were too drunk.  Then this morning two of our dormmates were checking out and decided to pack this morning instead of last night!  Plus they packed on the bed, I am on the bottom and the bed wouldn't stop moving, and they kept dropping things, then they had the door open and we could here all the drunk people.  I look at my watch 5am!!!  You ahve to be fucking kidding me.  "Can you close the door!  and PS you should've packed last night because you have just woken everybody up.  It's 5am you have to be fucking kidding me"  Then you here "retard" "cunt" ever8yone was pretty pissed.  I couldn't  get back to sleep I was up till 8am!  Finally fell back asleep and woke up at 10:30.  We had to be out of our rooms by noon because they were steam cleaning the carpets.  So today, due to rain, hangovers and steam cleaning we have all been in the tv room hanging out, its kind of nice to have those days.
Anyways I am having a visit today.  Taariq, Ryans brother is flying into Melbourne and staying at the hostel in St Kilda, he should be here within the next hour.  I am so excited to see him it's gonna be great and then Bonnie and I are off on our trip tomorrown morning and when we get back it is her brithday weekend and I have hooked up VIP at Base for her Birthday.  This week is gonna be great.  So now I am off to wait for Taariq hopefully he ends up checking out lol.  See here people check in and just never leave, kind of like Hotel California, which I have made the hostel theme song.  Everyone here is basically living here.  Its gonna be so tough to say good by in 7 weeks.  Oh well, thats the life of a traveler...gotta love it.

My New Home, Rotorua Smelling Farts and a Crackhouse Cabaret!

Ahhh Melbourne. What a place.  I fucking love it here! I am currently living in Saint Kilda which is amazing.  Its a mix of Hollywood Blvd meets Venice Beach meets Kensington Market meets incredible food fusion and bakery's. The streets are small but they are lined with shops, restaurants, cafe's and bars.  There is a market every Sunday , St. Kilda Beach Pier, and Luna Park - a small little theme park down the street from me.  Everything is in walking distance,  it has a great night life and I am one tram ride away from Melbourne City.
The city is awesome though I haven't really spent too much time scoping it out yet so that will definately have to be another blog.  I have been there but its to go out and drink lol at night so its dark but a day into the city is going to happen soon.  If I hop on another tram I get to Dallas's house :)  It's amazing that I can see and call him pretty much everyday.  It was so great seeing him again.
My flight is alright, of course I had to drink my last night in QT and wasn't feeling 100% the next day plus the food was not included in the price and were charging $10 a sandwhich which I was not gonna do.  I ended up sharing a row with this really nice woman who held my hand, as soon as we took of my face changed and she grabbed my hand lol I am the worst backpacker in the world! I'm afraid of everything lol.
I got stopped going through customs because of my record.  It's gonna be a bitch going in and out of Australia, I am going to get questioned every single time I come back in, and they didn't even stamp my passport :(  I look forward to my stamps.  Oh well maybe next time.  I was so excited to walk through the gates and see Dallas!  He tried hugging me but my backpack is massive and he couldnt even get his arms around me.  He had a rehearsal so we were off that way and then back to his place to get ready to go out.  I was so exhausted, jetl lagged, hungover and hungry - the asshole didn't even offer to carry any of my stuff lol.  Just keeps walking, he finally took one of my bags and then tried handing it back to me and I said "aren't you going to carry it?"  "oh ya"  what a dork.
We got back to his place just before five and had to be at the restaurant by 6.  I barley had time for anything.  All I wanted to do was sleep.  I was sitting on the couch with my head back Dallas comes in the room "dont you dare".
Dinner was amazing. The food was indescribable and the service was amazing.  We had a free glass of champagne when we got there.  The wine never stopped.  One of the bottles that we ordered was the last onethe world.  Dallas ordered for everyone because working there he knew what to get and let me tell you,  there are things that a backpacker live off of and this was no backpacker meal.  My tastebuds were on overload and they were loving it lol.  I even tried oysters, love them!!!
After dinner Dallas, Alana and I headed to this gay club called The Peel!  I loved it!  I am such a hag lol!  The guys are beautiful!  They buy you drinks and don't expect anything out of it lol.  At one point in the night Dallas was doing his "I'm really drunk and need to go home" dance which is basically spot he can rest his head, close his eyes but still wiggle his butt.  Not wanting to leave because I was in heaven but knew getting Dallas home to bed was the best way to go.  As we are about to leave a great song comes on and three muscle heads walk on the dance floor....and Dallas is all of a sudden awake and alert shaking his thing on the dance floor.  We wiggled our butts a little longer and then cabbed back to D's where we stayed up drinking with his flatmate to the wee hours of the morning.
We weren't feeling so good the next day lol.  Like really shitty.  I dont know how Alana made it to work in the morning.  Dallas took me to get phone and then he had to work in the afternoon and his flatmates were at work all day so it was just me Doobie their dog and Bella the spider that lives in the ceiling of the back porch.  I did my laundry and curled up with a bag of chips and watched movies all day.  It was so nice, I hadn't done it in so long.   Doobie was on one end of the couch so i just put my feet up on him, he snores really loud and when he farts it smells like Rotorua, for any of you that have been there you know what I mean and if not the best way I can explain is a constant smell of sulpher.  When ever that dog farts he takes me back to my days in Rotorua haha.
Dallas's flatmate Claire came home about 10p and opened a bottle of wine, sure I wouldnt mind a glass.  A few bottles later and finishing off my Bacardi we were drunkin idiots, she even called the guys and asked them to grab some wine on their way home from work.  Can you believe they have drive through bottle shops!  Gotta love this country.
The next day Dallas and Alana took me to St. Kilda as this is where I decided I was going to park myself for the next couple of months.  I had an appointment so see a backpackers apartments - people on work and travel visas who need a place less quiet then a hostel but you pay weekly as there are no committments.  Perfect right?  Not so much.  The building itself was old and ugly, the apartment was dirty and looked like something out of a trailer park, no internet no laundry and $170 a week.  "I'll call you" I said to the guy and quickly left. Dallas and Alana were outside yelling "emmie don't go another step further, get out while you still can" Dallas was like "you are not staying here"  which as soon as I walked in I had already decided that, I dont want to live in a place where I feel like I need to shower every five minutes.  Alright next place.  We check out this hostel.  I said I was on a work and travel visa and needed a place i could park myself for about a month or two.  The manager said no problems just no guests, dont be loud and no drugs...ya unless we buy them from you.  He was high on something, he had these  beedy eyes, and black teeth and he had little beeds of sweat coming out of every orofus of his face.  We walked in and out of that place really quickly.  Off to a few other places...3rd spot...they do say thrid time is a charm.   The hostel is a red bricked old motel, same kind of style as The Vibe in Hollywood.  A lot of the backpackers here work so are actually living here.  It's clean and affordable, they have laundry and internet, though I bought mobile broadband so I have internet everywhere now.  Everyone here is really great.   There are some musicians that sit outside and sing all the time,  there is a tv room, small kitchen, a small spider in my bathroom that I have named Lucy,  I have scottish roommates that I can't understand half of what they are saying, and when they drink it's worse.   I knew as soon as I walked in this was the place so I got booked in for the next day.
Dallas had to work that night so I made plans to meet up with Suzanne - one of our dormmates from the good old Banana Bungalow in WeHo- who is still traveling and living in Melbourne! Crazy! So we meet up for drinks.  She had met this guy at her hostel who decided to tag along.  Man was he boring.  Everytime we said something he had a bigger and better story to telll.  He also refused to eat like a backpacker so made sure to have a really good job so he didn't have to travel or eat like one, plus when we were followingt him some where he was so fast "look there is a table available" before we even stepped with one foot he is already out on the patio at the table with a drink and a smoke. All he did was talk about himself, ughhh I was so glad when Dallas was done work and we got to go home.
The next morning I packed and made my way with Dallas to Saint Kilda, to my new home.  I checked in, we went for lunch and then he headed off to work.  I didn't really do much, its always overwhelming when you get to a new place and don't know anyone and everyone else seems to know everyone else.   I hung out with my dormmate Gabby a little bit, she was getting ready to go back home.  I made it an early night read my book and went to bed.   The next day Suzanne and I planned to meet up in Saint Kilda and look around.   We walked down to the water which was boring so we decided to go to Luna Park a well known theme park.  The entrance way is a huge moon man face and you walk through is mouth to get in.  Entrance was free but tickets for the rides were expensive so we just looked around and laughed at ourselves infront of the mirrors that made us look like Oompa Loompas!
We left Luna and decided to stop somewhere and have a drink.  Well that drink turned into a couple glasses of wine which turned into a couple bottles of wine.  We were having a blast though, we talked about LA and how it seems like a different life and who would've thought we were gonna see eachother again.  At one point in the night I see this girl sitting at a table drinking a beer by herself...she is definately a backpacker, she just had that backpacker look, there is a look that they have its hard to explain, and she was sitting at a bar by herslef having a beer, definatly a backpacker.   So we called her (Bonnie) over and our twosome is now a threesome, then we were a foursome.  Some guy sits with us and then pretty much paid our tab for us which was great and then he went off his own way PERFECT.  The girls decided to come back to the hostel but we needed a bottle of vodka, we went through that fast we hadded buy wine from the reception.  We just partied with everyone at the hostel.  It was a great night and very random lol.
The next morning we woke up not feeling the greatest and  Bonnie decided she wanted to move into my hostel at the end of the week so we are going to be dorm mates soon which is gonna be so nice.  She is a pretty cool chick.   We pretty much lounged around all day and then I was meeting Dallas for dinner at Dracula's.  Dallas's flatmate is the manager at Dracula's and offered me a job there, so we were going for dinner to check it out! WOW!
You walk in to a comedic version of Dracula's tomb and a bald Rif Raf sort of character introduces himself as Scumbag and welcomes us into a night of terror.  We are led upstairs to a bar where there are pictures on the wall with moving eyes and puppet robot on the wall playing a piano.  We grab a drink and then we get on the ghost train.  Its this little ride with things hanging from the ceiling and wherewolves on the wall, though I kept my eyes closed through it because I hate being scared but it was more funny then anything.  We stop, get out and our led to our seats FRONT ROW!  Plus I was chosen to get my picture taken with the cast (which Juzzy planned) we ordered champagne and just enjoyed.  The characters were amazing, and the costumes were great.  There is little bus boy who hopped around and when the music got faster he hopped faster it was so funny.  Scumbag kept sliding on his butt across the stage, you had Dragula -Dracula in Drag, it was just hilarious.  There is a pre-show with a dead drummer and guitarist and the performers get up and sing.   Then the show starts, OMG there are no words to describe the Crackhouse Cabaret! The music is all covers of things, the performers are amazing the costumes are great, there was even sperms and a giant talking penis, I know it doesn't sound right but  it was amazing, and raunchy, sexy and necro and so unpolitically it was great!  We had so much fun and I get to start work in about a week.  I get to dress up in charachter and everything, its gonna be amazing.
I only remember getting out of the cab last night, and waking up on my bed still in my heels leather jacket and skirt.  I didnt remember anything, fucking champagne!  I aparantly called one of the guys at the hostel from the cab and said I didn't feel to good...why are you calling me shouldnt you tell him so he can pull over.  My dormmates said today, we are glad you are awake.  We thought you were dead because you didn't move once you were on the bed, and then you started snoring and we wanted to roll you over but we remmber you sayying you wake up sometimes not knowing where you are so we didnt want you to get scared.  LOL I am a piece of work.  Ahh I had a blast it was so worth it.
I am settling in great and am so happy, though still homesick at times I am having the time of my life.  Tonight Bonnie is coming over we are cooking dinner and going to plan a day trip.  Ahhh the life of a backpacker...I wonder if I could do this professionally!
